Salient is built so that what you say to it stays on your phone.
Your voice
When you record a brain dump, the audio is turned into text on your phone and sorted on your phone by a language model that runs on the device. The audio and the text are not sent anywhere. The audio is not kept after it has been turned into text.
What stays on your phone
The text of your dumps and what was sorted from them (tasks, shopping, ideas, notes, dates, steps) are kept in the app's own storage on your phone. You can edit or delete any of it in the app; deleting the app deletes all of it.
On iPhone, this storage is part of your device backup (iCloud or computer) if you have backups turned on; the downloaded models are excluded from it. On Android, the app turns backup off.
What Salient collects
Nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
When Salient uses the internet
Only when you tap Download for a model. The app then fetches the model files directly from the servers that host them:
- huggingface.co: the language models and the speech model;
- github.com: the voice-activity model.
These requests ask for a file by its name and carry nothing about you. Like any website you visit, those servers see your IP address; their own privacy policies apply to that. After the download, Salient works fully offline.
Permissions
Microphone: used only while you are recording a brain dump.
Children
Salient is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.

Твій голос
Коли ти записуєш дамп, звук перетворюється на текст на телефоні й розкладається на телефоні мовною моделлю, що працює на пристрої. Звук і текст нікуди не надсилаються. Звук не зберігається після того, як став текстом.
Що лишається на телефоні
Текст дампів і те, що з них розкладено (задачі, покупки, ідеї, записи, дати, кроки), зберігається у власному сховищі застосунку на телефоні. Будь-що з цього можна виправити чи видалити в застосунку; видалення застосунку видаляє все.
На iPhone це сховище входить у резервну копію пристрою (iCloud чи компʼютер), якщо копіювання ввімкнене; завантажені моделі з неї виключені. На Android застосунок резервне копіювання вимикає.
Що Salient збирає
Нічого. Немає облікового запису, аналітики, реклами й жодного стороннього відстеження.
Коли Salient іде в інтернет
Лише коли ти натискаєш завантажити для моделі. Тоді застосунок бере файли моделей напряму з серверів, де вони лежать:
- huggingface.co: мовні моделі й модель розпізнавання мови;
- github.com: модель виявлення мовлення.
Ці запити просять файл за назвою й нічого не несуть про тебе. Як і будь-який сайт, ці сервери бачать твою IP-адресу; на це діють їхні власні політики приватності. Після завантаження Salient працює повністю офлайн.
Дозволи
Мікрофон: лише під час запису дампу.
Діти
Salient не призначений для дітей до 13 років.
Зміни
Якщо ця політика зміниться, зміниться й дата вгорі.
